NEW telephone number and system from Thursday 31 October 2019

New telephone system and number for Burnley Medical Practice – improving your service from Thursday 31st October 2019

Dear Patients,

Your feedback is very important to us, and is helping to improve and shape the care that we deliver at Burnley Medical Practice.

Complete a short survey now

We know from the experiences that you have shared with us that you are unsatisfied with the current telephone system, and that you can often be on hold for quite some time, as well as sometimes experience disconnection whilst in conversation with one of our team members.

We have been working hard with the current telephone system provider, and earlier this year we took the firm decision to change telephony provider, as we do not consider the current system to be fit-for-purpose having explored all possible options for its improvement.

From Thursday 31st October 2019, the new number for Burnley Medical Practice will be 0203 874 9525. The new number is part of a brand new telephone system that we have invested in for our patients, and this is designed to provide you with an improved service, thank you for your patience during the change and sorry for any inconvenience you may experience in adjusting to the new number.

The current number (020 8438 7330) cannot be transferred to us, and will instead play a permanent message stating:

“Please note, the number for Burnley Medical Practice has now changed. The new number is 0203 874 9525, that’s 0203 874 9525. Please store this new number. Your call will not be diverted.”

If you have any queries or concerns and would like to write to us, please email us on, thank you.

Sad News

Dear Patients,

It is with great sadness that we advise of the tragic recent passing of Dr Miles Christie who until earlier this year served patients at The Burnley Practice for 5 years.

Dr Christie was known to many patients for his kind manner, personal service and high quality care, and colleagues at the practice have only fond memories of him.

A memorial service was held for Dr Christie by the practice team at the end of May, and this included the planting of a memorial tree on the Willesden Centre for Health grounds. Everyone at The Burnley Pratice and AT Medics would like to pass our deepest condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.

The family of Dr Christie have started a fundraising page as a memorial fund in Dr Christie’s memory, and patients are welcome to leave a message or donation on:

We’re moving! Improved premises for Burnley Practice

We’re moving!

We are pleased to announce that Burnley Practice will be relocating to the ground floor of Willesden Centre For Health on Monday 8th April 2019.

Burnley Practice is currently based on the first floor of the premises, however this space does not offer patients or our staff with a comfortable and easily accessible experience. We have been working for over a year on moving the practice to a more suitable location in the premises, whilst in the meanwhile working as innovatively as possible from the limited space available.

We want to extend a special thanks to our Patient Participation Group (PPG) and in particular our PPG Chair Peter Latham for all of the support over the past year or so in helping us to secure the new space in the premises.

We trust that the move to the first floor will support significant improvement in patient experience and we look forward to your feedback. Thank you.

Carers Event: After-event report with pictures

Burnley Medical Practice hosted a successful Carers Afternoon for all members of the public on Wednesday 22nd August 2018See pictures from the event below.

The event was well attended, mixed with members of the general public, registered patients, local healthcare providers and surgery staff.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet with the Practice Manager, together with new and long standing staff members of the practice. The event helped to raise awareness about a number of local services for Carers, all of which are accessible through the surgery for patients and residents of Brent.

The event provided a great platform for local healthcare services to engage with one another, promoting a holistic and community based approach to healthcare, and all enjoyed some well earned refreshments provided by the team at Burnley Medical Practice.

Debbie Howe, Deputy CEO of Brent Carers said “I just wanted to say thank you for inviting us yesterday- it was a good session and it’s great to see that your doctors are so keen on supporting carers.”

The local services that attended were:

  • Brent Carers, who offer confidential information, advice and support service to all carers living in Brent.
  • Healthwatch Brent, who help local people get the best out of their health and social care services by running various events, projects and activities in and around Brent.
  • Peter Latham, Chair of the Burnley Medical Practice PPG, who was sharing local knowledge and how patients and carers can be involved in shaping the care delivered at the practice.
  • Dr Noursadeghi, our Lead GP at Burnley Medical Practice, who was offering advice and support for carers and patients.

Burnley Medical Practice were delighted to host this event, and extend special thanks to the practice team and services who made this all possible.
